Sooo it's been a while since I have posted, but I wanted to share the news with my friends :)
I feel our family has been VERY blessed and prayers have been answered!!

Some of you  may know that my husband has been dealing with TYpe 1 diabetes since last year,  in 2004 he got diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, he was 27 y/o 6'5'', 200lbs..TYPE 2??
Well over a few years it transitioned into Type 1...he got put on insulin in Jan 08. Insulin dependent diabetics in the Marine Corps is basically career ending!!!! S0 he was put on limited duty for a year and kept track of all his numbers and had a lot of his command fighting for him to stay in..He WAS NOT BROKEN, so our thought, why and the heck kick him out??!!   February it was time to go in front of the medical board to find out our fate of the Corps!!! After sooo long of the unknown, we NEEDED to know our fate! We have been VERY stressed and worried, because he has been in for 13 years and the Marine Corps has been our security blanket and financially and mentally we were not ready to face the "real world"  It is VERY VERY rare to find a Marine fit for duty with Type 1, they are normally discharged without blinking!!  Tuesday the call came for him to go to the Naval Hospital the results were in!!!!!!!  Sooo i waited for what seemed like forever for him to call..it was only 50 minutes but i had to call...LOL  I said, it's bad, huh?? He was quiet and said NO, it's good?? HUH??? What do you mean?? He said I am found fit for duty!!!!!!!!!! WHAT, i knew he was joking (of course this was NO joking matter and he knew that) So he told me again and after a few times of verifying he wasn't lying..LOL The extreme flood of emotions poored out of me, you would have thought I lost my child, the way I was crying...but they were tears of relief, tears of happiness, tears of disbelief!!! HE BEAT THE ODDS and we fought to do everything possible to show proof that he has had awesome control the past year, we just knew it would have to go to an appeal and try to fight with all our might!!!  He will NOT lose his career despite being an insulin dependent Type 1 diabetic..........EVERYTHING is going to be okay :)

SOrry that was long, but I just wanted to share that prayer works as we had SOOO many praying for us and our family!!!!!

ALSOOOO I had my "big" ultrasound yesterday ~ I am 19 weeks preggo and the baby was as stubborn as can be, Go figure, my child stubborn??? LOL It was facing my back, head down, hands up, legs crossed indian style and it wouldnt budge...LOL The tech said she wouldn't be able to get a good picture, but she could definately tell what it was, and IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! We are having "another" princess....LOL  Kameron (our boy) is 9, Princess Keeley will be 4 a few days before the baby is born and now another princess!!!! We are thrilled, and even more so, because Dr. said the baby looks Perfect!!!! *sigh* YAY what a sigh of relief, getting pregnant 9 months post op, was scary enough, but it really looks like again, things are going to be Okay!!! So nowwwwwww it's time to go shopping!!!  WoooHooo!!!

Thanks for reading through this if you made it all the way through!! Yall are the best, I really hope one of these days, we could have a statewide meet up, that would be SO exciting to meet the bodies to go with the avatars :)
Have a great Wednesday!!!!

It sounds like Congratulations & Congratulations are in order. That's fantastic news about the hubby & his diabetes struggle within the Marine corps. I know with this economy that the outcome of that was a HUGE relief. You're still in my thoughts and prayers for a healthy and uneventful pregnancy and delivery. What great news to learn the baby's sex this early out. Enjoy the many, many shopping trips.

Jamie, I am so happy for you and your family. Working at a medical clinic for active duty I do know how rare that is. Congrats big time.
Now for your other news. That is wonderful. Girls are daddy's little girls but become wonderful friends for mothers as they grow older. You are truly blessed all around.

Hi Jami,

I'm so very pleased for you and your dear husband. It's nice to know that even the Marines aren't always jugheads... LOL. People with disabilities such as your husband's can and do make signficant and effective contributions. It would be crazy to throw away years of investment in him just because he has a manageable disability. I know that this has been a significant concern and worry for you both and I'm so glad to hear that it resolved so well for you.

It sounds like you have a modest little princess there. Best wishes on a continuing a healthy and uneventful preganancy, followed by a gentle, safe birth.

Wishing you and yours continued blessings,

Barbara

COngratulations on all fronts, as a retired military wife, I know how scary leaving the service can be, especially if its not your idea!! We were scared to retire after 30 years!!! (LOL) Civilian life is a real unknown. Thankfully the Corp realizes a good thing when they see it!!

Also, congrats on princess #2, continued good health to you and baby.

Also, your pics from the Marine ball are beautiful!!

Have a blessed one....
